How to Disable Error Reporting & Low Disk Space in Windows XP?

How to disable irritants in XPWhile using Computer, you might have frequently encountered with some of the irritating messages like error reporting messages or even low disk space warning. Now we will see that how we can disable that error messages in the below post.

1. How to disable error reporting?

Step 1: Click on “Start”, and then click on “Run”, type “Regedit” and click on “OK”.

Step 2: After clicking on “OK”, a new pop up window will open up in which click on “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE” icon.

Step 3: Now, double click on “SOFTWARE” icon and also double click on “Microsoft”, “PCHealth” and also on “ErrorReporting” icon.

Step 4: Now on right hand side of that window, right click on “Do Report” icon and select Modify, Now if Value: DoReport is 1 then it will Send Reports and if selected 0 then it will not send the error reports.

Step 5: There you are, you have successfully disabled error reporting.

2. How to disable Low disk space message?

It happens many times that if your hard disk space is low you get irritated with frequent pop up prompting about low disk space and trust me it’s quite an irritant sometimes. So now following a simple procedure, you will be able to disable low disk space message permanently.

Step 1: Click on “Start”, and then click on “Run”, type “Regedit” and click on “OK”.

Step 2: After clicking on “OK”, a new pop up window will open up in which click on “HKEY_CURRENT_USER” icon.

Step 3: Now, double click on “SOFTWARE” icon and also double click on “Microsoft”, “Windows” and also on “Current version” icon.

Step 4: Now click on “Policies” and also double click on “explorer” on right hand side of that window, right click on “REG_DWORD” and set the new Binary value to 1 and you are done.

Step 5: There you are, you have successfully disabled error reporting.

Now, after reading the above post you will be able to disable both error reporting message as well as low disk space message.

  1. That’s a good thing to know..Those errors really annoy users..

  2. Useless information. I don’t want to disable error reporting, I want to disable low disk usage error message. I *KNOW* that one of my drives has low disk space, I don’t need to be reminded of it constantly. Extremely irritating.

    So. How do I disable just the low disk usage error message?
